These terms cover the MiSpend app and the website at mispend.com. They sit alongside the licence you accept when you download the app. By downloading or using MiSpend, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Who can use MiSpend
You need to be at least 13 to use MiSpend. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
The licence
The app is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. On Google Play, Google Play's terms apply. These terms add only what that licence doesn't cover.
Using MiSpend fairly
Please don't:
- copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, except as its licence allows;
- reverse-engineer or decompile it, except where the law lets you;
- interfere with the app, the website or the services they rely on, or try to get around the ads or purchases by technical means;
- use MiSpend for anything unlawful.
Not financial advice
MiSpend helps you keep track of your own money. Figures such as Safe to spend, daily pace and goal pace are worked out from the entries you make, and are only as accurate as those entries. Nothing in the app or on this site is financial, tax or investment advice.
Exchange rates
Exchange rates come from third-party providers, are indicative, and may differ from the rates your bank or card uses. Each entry keeps the rate it was saved with; you can set a manual rate on any entry.
Remove ads
Remove ads is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. It removes every ad on devices signed in to the same store account, through Restore purchases. It isn't a subscription and isn't shared through Family Sharing. Purchases, and refunds, are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their terms.
Remove ads lasts for as long as MiSpend is offered in the store you bought it from. It isn't a promise that the app will be available or updated forever.
Your data
Your data is stored on your device, and it's yours. You're responsible for keeping backups: if you delete the app or lose your device without a backup, your data can't be recovered — we never had a copy. How the app handles your data is set out in the privacy policy.
Ownership
The app, the website, the MiSpend name, the mascot and their content belong to the developer. These terms don't give you any right to use them beyond using MiSpend itself.
Changes to the app
We may add, change or remove features, or stop offering MiSpend, at any time. If we stop offering it, the app keeps working with the data on your device for as long as your device runs it, but may no longer be updated, and features that need a connection may stop working.
You can stop using MiSpend at any time by deleting it.
No warranty
The app and the website are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that they'll be free of errors, always available, or suited to a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, the developer isn't liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including decisions you make based on its figures, or loss of data, nor for any indirect or consequential loss. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to what you paid for Remove ads, if you bought it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we publish a new dated version. If a change is significant, we'll also point it out in the app or on this site where we reasonably can. If you keep using MiSpend after a new version takes effect, that version applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the developer lives, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
